Police: Man offered free haircuts, electronics in exchange for grandfather's murder

MESA, Ariz. - Mesa, Ariz., police arrested a man who offered an undercover detective an iPad, iPod and year of free haircuts to kill his grandfather Wednesday night.

Devin Almejo placed an ad on Craigslist to purchase a gun to kill his grandfather, according to Mesa police Detective Steve Berry.

A detective responded to the ad and met with Almejo near Main Street and Alma School Road just before midnight, Berry said.

Almejo reportedly explained he's not good with guns and agreed to have the detective commit the murder.

Berry said the suspect offered the gadgets and free haircuts as payment for the crime.

Almejo was then taken into custody on conspiracy to commit first degree murder and attempted first degree murder.
