NEW DELHI - Six men have been arrested in connection with the gang rape of a Swiss tourist in central India, Indian police say.
A police officer in Gatia district of Madhya Pradesh state said Sunday that the men have admitted to the crime.
He spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media.
Police say the woman and her husband were on a cycling vacation in India and had camped for the night in a forest when they were attacked by a group of men Friday night. They say the couple were robbed and beaten, and that the woman was gang-raped.
