A disturbing photo posted on Facebook has a lot of people upset and sheriff's deputies in Charlotte County, Florida, looking for the man in the picture.

The image shows a man named Thomas Mcguinness holding a cat with a gun to its head, according to WBBH-TV.

"I don't really want to look at that. I find it disturbing," said Sharon Thomas, Exec. Director of Animal Welfare League.  "To see something like that it just turns my stomach."

The post has been taken down.

"It angers us beyond belief," said Brian Jones from the Charlotte County Animal Control.

Mcguinness later posted, "Don't know why everybody so mad about a cat we only shot it twice."

"That's a confession, where I come from if we found a dead cat," Jones said.

Other pictures were found on Mcguninness' Facebook page which showed him pointing a gun at a dog and himself.

The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office is treating this as a possible case of animal cruelty.

"It's a case of interest, and we just want to prove that the animals are ok and that he's OK, that's it," Jones added.

Anyone who spots Mcquinness is asked to call Charlotte County Animal Control at 941-833-5690.
