Death toll from Oklahoma City tornado rises to 10

OKLAHOMA CITY - Authorities say the death toll from Friday night's tornado in the Oklahoma City metro area has risen to 10.

Spokeswoman Amy Elliott said the state medical examiner's office received another body Saturday evening, increasing the death toll by one.

Eight adults and two children died from the Friday tornado, which charged down a clogged Interstate 40 in the western suburbs of Oklahoma City.

Three of the people killed were famed Colorado storm chaser Tim Samaras, his son Paul Samaras and Carl Young.

Gov. Mary Fallin said Sunday that emergency workers are searching flooded areas for missing residents. She didn't say how many are missing.
