DEER TRAIL, Colo. - Two people were killed after their pickup truck collided with a semi on Interstate 70 on Thursday morning.

The victims were in a Nissan pickup, according to Colorado State Patrol trooper Josh Lewis.

The crash happened about 8:47 a.m. on eastbound I-70 at mile marker 329. That's about one mile from Deer Trail.

Lewis said the driver of the semi was not injured.

Troopers are still trying to determine what happened. Lewis said investigators are looking at whether ice or other weather-related factors played a role in the crash.
