SAN DIEGO - The Department of Defense is auctioning off a 50-foot experimental sailboat this week.
The Contour 50 Trimaran Sailboat, now docked at Harbor Island in San Diego, goes up for an online public auction on Tuesday at midnight. It opens at $25.
The Contour is a three-hulled sailboat that was used by the U.S. Navy for experimental training, according to the listing on GovLiquidation.com, the site responsible for selling the vessel.
It was built in the mid-2000s and has a 40-horsepower diesel engine.
"It is still in sailable condition and with some work can be back in ship shape and ready to cruise the coast," the listing reads.
The buyer will be responsible for moving the boat from its current location.
