Paula Deen prepping for a comeback?

TV chef made first appearance in months Saturday

Paula Deen has been a near-recluse in the months following her admission that she had used a racial slur – and subsequent fall from TV grace.

On Saturday, she made her first step back into the public eye, causing some to wonder if she's prepping for a comeback.

Deen was met with a standing ovation Saturday when she joined her sons Jamie and Bobby Deen onstage at the Metropolitan Cooking & Entertaining Show in Houston.

"I've said all along that the one place that I would want to make my first step back out was Texas," she told the approximately 1,400 people in the audience, as reported by ABC News. "Y'all's hearts are as big as your state."

Deen held two cooking demonstrations during the two-day show. Tickets cost up to $400 to see her.

Deen is scheduled to make another appearance at the show when it stops in Dallas next weekend.  She also has a number of book signings planned through the end of the year.
