TIMBERLAKE, Virginia - The grandparents of an 8-year-old Virginia girl say they've pulled her out of a local Christian school because it feels she's too much like a boy.
WHTM-TV ABC 27 reported that Sunnie Kahle's grandparents got a letter from the school saying if the girl didn't follow "biblical standards," she'd be refused enrollment next school year.

The letter goes on to reference specific Bible verses that affirm these beliefs.
The letter reads in part, "We believe that unless Sunnie as well as her family clearly understand that God has made her female and her dress and behavior need to follow suit with her God-ordained identity, that TCS is not the best place for her future education."

The grandparents told WHTM TV they feel Kahle is a normal child and pulled her out of the school themselves because they feel she's no longer welcome. She's now in public school.
