FORT COLLINS, Colo. - A Fort Collins high school cultural club is translating the U.S. Pledge of Allegiance into Arabic.

On Monday, a club member read the Pledge in Arabic over the Rocky Mountain High School public address system. Now the student Cultural Arms Club is going ahead with translating the Pledge into Arabic. They also have plans for translating it into Korean and possibly Chinese.

According to the Fort Collins Coloradoan, the club was formed to knock down barriers and embrace other cultures.

Within hours of Monday's recital, the school had received several angry calls from unhappy parents.

Senior Nuha Kapatayes, who read the Pledge, says most students accepted the decision by school officials to allow it.
