Part of Glenwood Canyon bike path opens from No Name to Grizzly Creek

GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo. - Transportation officials have opened a 4-mile stretch of the popular Glenwood Canyon bike path, but the eastern section of the route remains closed because of damage caused by flooding.

Tracy Trulove, a spokeswoman for the Colorado Department of Transportation, tells The Glenwood Springs Post Independent the path is open from No Name to Grizzly Creek, but it's unclear how long the damaged portion will be out of service.

Some bridges will need to be repaired, and scoured-out areas must be rebuilt.

Trulove says some of the damage along the path is "pretty significant."
