GREELEY, Colo. -
A Greeley woman who fired into the home of man who she thought had sexually assaulted her son has been sentenced to 38 years in prison after her bullets ended up hitting another man.
Tarrara Shureen Garcia was sentenced Friday. She pleaded guilty in August to attempted first-degree murder in the shooting Dec. 29, 2011, that wounded a Kersey man who wasn't her intended target.
The Greeley Tribune reports the intended target, whom Garcia suspected of sexually assaulting her son, hasn't been charged with any sex crimes.
Garcia's boyfriend Khanh Tran pleaded guilty to being an accessory to the crime and was sentenced Friday to three years of probation and 100 hours of community service.
