CRAIG, Colo. - A resident in Craig went to his city council this week with a request -- he wants the Craig City Council to require heads of households within Craig city limits to have a modern sporting rifle capable of accepting high-capacity magazines.
Much like a law passed in Nelson, Georgia, there would be exceptions for those not physically or mentally capable of operating a firearm; those who can't afford a rifle; those convicted of felony; and those who oppose owning a firearm.
The idea came from Craig resident Craig Rummel. According to the Craig Daily Press, Rummel says he wants city leaders to send a message that new laws and regulations are hurting their economy.
Council members questioned how such a law would be enforced, but they didn't reject the suggestion outright.
