Bond $1M for suspect in Palisade shootout

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - A judge has set a $1 million cash bond for a man accused of getting into a shootout with authorities during a domestic violence case in Palisade.

George Romero is facing charges of attempted murder of a police officer after the standoff on Wednesday.

The Grand Junction Daily Sentinel reports nobody was hit in the exchange of gunfire.

Chief Deputy District Attorney Trish Mahre said Romero threatened victims and told them no one would leave alive if authorities got involved.
