Aspen wants no complaints from new residents

ASPEN, Colo. - The Aspen City Council has approved a new three-story building with the stipulation that whoever occupies the penthouse can't complain about noise.

The "no complaining" clause was written into a development application for the building because it is near restaurants and other noisy areas.

The Aspen Times reports the action is mostly symbolic, because all residents have a legal right to seek the stoppage of noise.

Officials hope the clause will make the future penthouse owner aware of the noise in downtown Aspen.
