PUEBLO, Colo. - Colorado's 2014 State Fair opens Thursday in Pueblo, with some changes from last year.
Last year's experiment with cashless cards will not be returning to the fairgrounds this year. Vendors will be allowed to accept payments in cash this year.
Another change to the 2014 fair is that midway ride wristbands will be available for sale at the admission gates. Wristbands cost $30 per day or $90 for the duration of the fair.
Admission this year costs $7 for adults on Monday-Thursday and $10 Friday-Sunday. Children between the ages of 5 and 12 get in for $7 every day. Younger children get in free with an adult's admission.
Parking in the lot south of the fairgrounds will cost $7. Shuttle buses running from the garage at 110 S. Main St. in downtown Pueblo will cost $2 per person, but parking in that garage is free.
The fair is open every day through Labor Day, Sept. 1. On Mondays through Thursdays, the fair is open from noon through 11 p.m. On Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Labor Day, the fair is open from 10 a.m. through 11 p.m.
