CORTEZ, Colo. (AP) — Authorities say a man walking his dog along a reservoir in southwestern Colorado found a woman’s body in the water.

Montezuma County officials identified the woman discovered Friday as 57-year-old Madeline Scott of Mancos.

Sheriff Steve Nowlin tells the Cortez Journal an autopsy will be performed and investigators are searching Summit Reservoir for evidence.

Officials say Scott took her car to the reservoir sometime Thursday evening, but the vehicle has not been found.

Officials from the New Mexico State Police, Colorado Parks and Wildlife and the La Plata County Sheriff’s Office are assisting.
