UPDATE: The Fremont County Sheriff's Office has found the missing 64-year-old woman. "She is cold, tired and hungry but ok," deputies said early Sunday afternoon. Our previous story is below.

FREMONT COUNTY, Colo. – An extensive search is underway Sunday for a missing 64-year-old woman in Fremont County who went out for a walk and never returned home.

The woman was reported missing Saturday just before noon in the Tallahassee area, according to the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office.

Fremont County Search and Rescue responded along with the Fremont County Incident Management Team and began searching for the woman. Eventually more search teams from multiple agencies – including the Custer County Search and Rescue, El Paso County Search and Rescue, Douglas County Search and Rescue, Flight for Live and the Colorado Division of Fire Safety – responded and searched by foot, four-wheeler and with dog teams.

A Multi Mission Aircraft (MMA) was also called to search from the skies with high-resolution infrared cameras at around 5:30 p.m., but to no avail.

Search teams have been searching for the missing 64-year-old and will continue to do so Sunday, the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office said.

The woman’s identity was not immediately released, “though she has been entered as a missing person,” a sheriff’s deputy said.

The exact location of the search isn’t also being released as crews do not want the public in that area, according to the sheriff’s office.
