A toddler abducted in Albuquerque was found after a police chase in southern Colorado Tuesday morning.
The Colorado State Patrol said it was notified at 6:52 a.m. that an SUV wanted in an Amber Alert was northbound on Interstate 25 from New Mexico.
"Colorado State troopers were set up north of the New Mexico state line and observed a 2004 Cadillac matching the description in the Amber Alert and attempted to make contact," CSP said.
Officials said after a trooper activated his lights and siren, the SUV's driver sped up to more than 100 miles per hour.
Stop sticks were deployed at mile marker 41. The SUV hit them and about 1.5 miles later, the driver lost control, went into the median, crossed the southbound lanes, went onto the frontage road and rolled, CSP said.
The missing toddler and the suspect, believed to be her father, were both ejected.
The girl, 2 1/2 year old Denise Tirado, was airlifted to Children's Hospital in Aurora with moderate injuries.
The suspect, Ramiro Tirado, was taken to a nearby hospital with moderate injuries.
Albuquerque police said detectives were filing paperwork to have him extradited to New Mexico.
