School Board Member Accused Of Sexting Teen Boy

Ellicott Board Member Stefanie Dickinson Charged With Luring Of A Child

A member of the Ellicott School Board was arrested over the weekend, accused of sending sexual text messages to a 14-year-old boy.

Stefanie Dickinson, 37, was arrested by El Paso County sheriff's deputies on Sunday and faces a felony charge of Internet luring of a child.

According to the arrest warrant affidavit, Dickinson had been texting the 14-year-old boy for about a month and made several references to sex acts and her expertise on performing them.

One text from Dickinson to the boy refers to a specific sex act saying, "I give a mean** .. ha ha," according to a detective who looked through the boy’s cellphone.

Another text that followed that said,” Baby, I will rock ur effing world!!” according to the affidavit.

Earlier that day, on Sept. 2, a text from Dickinson to the boy said, “I will work on not being so scared so something can happen =)."

The 14-year-old boy apparently went out with Dickinson, her husband, and her two sons to Lake Meredith in Ordway during the Aug. 20 weekend, his family said.

Police did not say how the boy knows Dickinson or her family. The affidavit did not mention the ages or names of her two sons, or if they were the boy’s classmates.

The boy said after the trip, Dickinson then asked for his phone number, so she could text him pictures of the trip, according to the affidavit.

The first several text messages were about the trip, but then, about a week later, they became more sexual in nature, the boy said.

The boy said he texted her about how his shins were hurting from football practice and she wrote back that she would give him a massage and because she works at a hospital, she would “give him a full examination.”

She texted the boy, "You can't tell anyone about this at all because I could lose my family."

According to the affidavit, Dickinson even asked if he would take another trip to the lake with her family and said that if it would help, she would ask his mother for permission. She had approached the boy’s parents the first time to ask if the boy could be allowed to go to the lake with her family, according to the affidavit.

The boy said she often told him that he had a sexy smile, how she “wanted" him and even joked about how he would have to sneak out sometime to meet up with her.

The two never actually met for sex, according to the affidavit, but the interactions between the boy and the woman did not go unnoticed.

The boy’s sister informed her father because she saw the two hugging at a football game and noticed that they were texting each other alot. “She thought the interaction was inappropriate for an adult woman and a juvenile boy," according to the detective who wrote the affidavit.

During the interview with the boy, investigators asked if he felt Dickinson was trying to get him to meet with her for sex and the boy stated that he did, and added, "I think she was kind of afraid," according to the arrest warrant.

The texts never specifically asked for him to meet her and when the boy was asked if she would have tried to commit a sexual act if they did meet, he said, “She would have tried, but I don’t think I would have been comfortable.”

Ellicott School District 22 released the following statement regarding the arrest of Stefanie Dickinson:

"The District is aware of the allegation against Mrs. Dickinson and we have no direct information at this time and it would therefore be inappropriate to comment upon it. Mrs. Dickinson has been on the Board of Education for two yeas and is the Treasurer of the Board."
