A Denver woman has been accused of continuing to work as a prostitute for years despite knowing she has AIDS, Denver prosecutors said Tuesday.

Frances Woodke, 45, was formally charged with felony prostitution with knowledge of AIDS and misdemeanor prostitution and solicitation of prostitution, said Lynn Kimbrough, spokeswoman for Denver District Attorney Mitch Morrissey.

Woodke pleaded guilty in 2000 and again in 2008 to attempted prostitution with knowledge of AIDS, Kimbrough said.

The current charges accuse Woodke of soliciting for prostitution on Jan. 26 in the 1400 block of Elizabeth Street, Kimbrough said.

Woodke was held in the Denver County Jail Tuesday with bond set at $75,000. She's scheduled to be formally advised of charges in Denver County on Thursday.
