Declaration Releases Federal Aid For High Park Fire, Waldo Canyon Fire

President Barack Obama has declared a major disaster in Colorado.

That means the state can apply for federal aid to help in the recovery efforts in the areas affected by the High Park Fire and Waldo Canyon Fire.

Federal funding will also be available for crisis counseling and disaster unemployment assistance for those affected by the fires in El Paso and Larimer counties impacted by the fires.

FEMA said damage surveys are continuing in other areas, and more counties and additional forms of assistance may be designated after the assessments are fully completed.
