TAMPA, Fla. - If you are tired of sorting through the spin and half-truths of political ads, a new website allows you to match your position on the issues with the candidates without the hype. Isidewith.com is sort of a matchmaking site for confused voters.
Nearly 3 million people have taken the presidential quiz on Isidewith.com since March.
The list of questions on social issues, the economy and foreign policy takes about fifteen minutes to complete and matches you up with the candidate whose policies most closely align with your answers.
"I think more often than not, people will come down where they expect but some people may be surprised," said conservative Tampa attorney Todd Marks. Marks took the test and came out 97 percent for Mitt Romney.
"I was a little surprised because I consider myself conservative so it's good to see that Mitt Romney is there at 97 percent," said Marks.
Democratic Political consultant Ana Cruz likes the way the quiz allowed her to fine tune her answers on questions ranging from abortion, to offshore drilling, to the minimum wage.
"If 'yes' or 'no' doesn't do it for you, you can expand and have up to five different options you could choose instead of just yes or no," said Cruz.
Cruz came out with an 85 percent match with the person she's going to vote for anyway -- President Obama. But Cruz was also aligned strongly with the Green Party candidate, Jill Stein.
"Some people may not agree with Obama on all the issues, but most of them. It gives you a clearer picture of what party and what candidate you lean to the most," said Cruz.
The quiz includes the two major party nominees, plus candidates for the Libertarian, Green and Constitution parties.
Isidewith.com claims to be unaffiliated with any party, interest group or advertiser and says their goal is to educate and encourage people to vote.
