More than 120,000 vote in Jefferson County School District R-1 election

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. - More than 120,000 votes were cast in the Jefferson County School District R-1 elections.

The district had three of five seats on the Board of Education open for election: District 1 in the north and east area, District 2 in the west and mountain area, and District 5 in the south area.

These are the final unofficial results as of 1:13 a.m. Wednesday, per Jefferson County Public Schools.

Julie Williams -- 61.3%, with 76,706 votes
Tonya Aultman-Bettridge -- 38.6%, with 48,414 votes

-- Director District 2 --

Leff Lamontagne -- 45.8%, with 56,892 votes
John Newkirk -- 54.2%, with 67,289 votes

-- Director District 5 --

Ken Witt -- 58.3%, with 72,981 votes
Gordon (Spud) Van De Water -- 41.7%, with 52,153 votes

Each seat is for a term of four years.
