DENVER -- A Colorado senate candidate was injured in a rollover crash Monday as he was coming back from the Standing Rock Indian Reservation in the Dakotas.

"Driving back from Standing Rock last night I totaled my car; it rolled at least 5 times, leaving me with four broken ribs and my campaign assistant Kia with serious injuries," said Green Party senate candidate Arn Manconi in a Facebook post Tuesday morning, adding that both were at the hospital in Wyoming sorting out insurance and transportation back to Colorado, and that both were O.K.

Despite his injuries, he continued to urge his supporters to go out and vote "for progressive and independent candidates like myself and Jill Stein."

"It's ironic and also rad that this happened today; the car crash opened my eyes to the importance of being a person for others and working for humanity's greater good instead of my own," Menconi wrote. "f I'm elected to US senate I will keep fighting to the very end, and I hope you'll keep fighting alongside me."
