DENVER -- Vicente Fox, the former President of Mexico, is coming to Denver this week to be part of a trade and investment forum hosted by Global Chamber Denver.

“It’s really about economic opportunities between Colorado and specifically Mexico and how he could support those efforts,” Global Chamber Denver Executive Director Jeffrey Campos told Anne Trujillo on this weekend’s Politics Unplugged.

Anne will be hosting a discussion featuring President Fox and Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper on Wednesday afternoon.

Campos says Denver was specifically selected for the President’s visit.

“They came to us and identified Denver as a city they felt was really a city they wanted to come to,” he said. “We spent 2-3 days showing them around town getting to meet the mayor, the governor. And they made a decision after two days, ‘you know we’re coming here.’”

Tickets are still available to many of the events surrounding President Fox’s visit, including Wednesday afternoon’s forum. You can order tickets on the Global Chamber’s website.

Politics Unplugged airs Sundays at 4:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Denver7.
