DENVER -- Former Colorado GOP Chair Dick Wadhams says Monday night's presidential debate could turn the tide in favor of Democrat Hillary Clinton or Republican Donald Trump.

Wadhams appeared on Politics Unplugged this Sunday with Anne Trujillo and Marshall Zelinger.

Wadhams believes there are people fed up with both candidates that are looking for anything in the other candidate that could sway their vote.

But some of the former GOP chair's toughest words were directed at Colorado's two major party U.S. Senate candidates, both of which have backed out of at least one televised debate apiece.

"Senator Michael Bennet and his Republican challenger, Darryl Glenn, are failing the people of Colorado in this election. And I say that having great respect for both of them... I just think they're both selling the people of Colorado short," Wadhams told the hosts.
