DENVER – The Colorado legislature does not meet again until January, but there’s a lot at stake right now.
State Rep. Javon Melton has been asked to step down after reports he was arrested - twice in the past - for harassing or abusing girlfriends.
As that drama plays out, Melton and other members of the legislature face a November election where many of them face strong challengers which could lead to shifts in power at the state house.
