Police: Woman Attacked, Fondled At Grocery Store

Police Hope Surveillance Photo Will Help Identify Attacker

Police are hoping a surveillance photo will help them catch the man suspected of attacking and assaulting a woman at a grocery store.

The woman told Colorado Springs police she was at the King Soopers on West Unitah Street on May 2 at 9:45 p.m. when a man grabbed her neck from behind and fondled her breasts and buttocks.

The woman said she hit the man with her elbow and called for help.

The man ran off, pushing past several people and leaping over grocery carts, police said.

While there is no surveillance pictures of the attack, grocery store cameras captured the man's picture before the attack, police said.

The attacker is described as a white or Hispanic man in his 20s, 5 foot 8 inches tall with a dark goatee. He ran to a waiting vehicle that witnesses described as a beat up, older American-model sedan.
