Police: Shop Owners Sold Spice, Other Designer Drugs

Warrants Issued On Necessities Smoke Shop, Up N’ Smoke

The owners of two smoke shops have been arrested on suspicion of distribution of drugs.

The Weld County Drug Task Force and Liquor and Tobacco Enforcement Division of the Colorado Department of Revenue searched Bear Necessities Smoke Shop in Greeley and Up N’ Smoke in Fort Collins, according to the Greeley Tribune.

The newspaper said authorities seized more than 1,300 packages of various designer drugs, commonly known as "spice," "plant food" and "bath salts," in the Greeley shop. They seized 500 packages from the Fort Collins shop and a home in Fort Collins.

Colorado has banned the sale or manufacture of synthetic marijuana. The Drug Enforcement Agency made several other designer drugs illegal.
