A drunken Longmont woman was arrested Tuesday evening after police said she stuffed a days-old Chihuahua puppy down her pants.

Johna Rose Turner, 39, was arrested after police were called to a home on Main Street on a report of a domestic dispute, according to a police report.

Officers said they found Turner arguing with a man there but agreed to leave the home.

Before she left, she said she wanted to take her dogs, police said. A witness told police she stuffed a 6-day-old Chihuahua puppy down her pants.

An officer told Turner to remove the dog and she responded by shaking her leg so that the puppy fell out of her right pant leg, police said.

The officer then told the woman to pick the puppy up so she would not step on it. She did so, but threw the dog into a nearby stroller, police said.

The puppy was not hurt.

Police arrested Turner on suspicion of animal cruelty. She was booked into the Boulder County Jail.
