Loveland Man Arrested In Death Of 30-Year-Old

Police have made an arrest in the fatal shooting of one man and the wounding of two others near the Colorado State University campus Monday night.Fort Collins Police were called to the 1200 block of University Avenue at 10:08 p.m., and found three male victims shot."The victims were transported to the Medical Center of the Rockies for treatment of gunshot wounds," said police spokeswoman Rita Davis.The Larimer County coroner said one of the victims, 30-year-old Clinton M. Hiney, died of his injuries. The two victims who survived were identified only as a man in his 50s and a man who is 36 years old.Police have arrested Joshua Douglas Renn, 21, of Loveland, Colo., in connection with the case. He was taken into custody at about 8:15 a.m. Tuesday as his residence."While the motive remains under investigation, police have confirmed that the shooting was not random and that the victims and the suspect had some previous relationship," Davis said in a news release.Many of the residents of the building go to Front Range Community College in Fort Collins."It's pretty scary when you think your community is safe and right next to you, in your own neck of the woods, its just ridiculous," said resident Ben Faddis.Some residents were concerned by the number of people going in and out of the apartment where the shooting happened."There is a ton of people walking in and out of there, just a lot of shaddy looking people sometimes," said Faddis.Anyone with information related to this incident is asked to call Detective Jaclyn Shaklee at 970-221-6575 or Crime Stoppers of Larimer County at 970-221-6868.
