Police: Bug Spray Used In Attempted Bank Robbery

A woman walked into a Lakewood bank claiming to have a bomb and demanding money, but police said all she had was a can of Raid.

It happened Friday morning at the Citywide Bank, 3290 S. Wadsworth.

According to police, the woman said she had a bomb in her purse and that three men had ordered her to enter the bank and make the threat.

The woman wasn't given any money and fled when she was a police car. She was quickly apprehended.

The bomb squad checked her purse and found a can of bug spray.

Police believe she was acting alone.
