Pastor Resigns Over Sexual Misconduct Allegations

Longmont Man Had Been Church Minister For 15 Years

A Longmont pastor has resigned amid allegations of sexual misconduct.

Wayne V Pendleton, 54 (ictured, left), pastor of the New Creation World Outreach Church, announced his resignation earlier this week after he was presented with the allegation. The allegation did not involve anything criminal and Longmont police said they weren't investigating.

A spokesman for the church said that the alleged misconduct occurred more than a year ago, but would not elaborate.

In a written statement issued to the congregation of the church, Pendleton said, "I hope you understand my dilemma and why I chose to resign for the sake of the church and my family. We live in days that the church is carefully scrutinized, and I did not want any reproach on this ministry."

He had been the minister of New Creation Church for the past 15 years and is married, with four children.

The church board appointed Mario Latini as interim pastor and president of the church.

"We ask that your prayers be with the Pendletons, the pastoral staff and board of directors during this transition time," read a statement issued by the board.
