Felony charges will not be filed against a Longmont woman accused of groping a female Transportation Security Administration agent in Phoenix, the district attorney's office announced Tuesday. After initially reviewing the case against 61-year-old Yukari Miyamae, the Maricopa County Attorney determined the facts alleged did not rise to the level of a felony offense under state law and referred the matter to the Phoenix City Prosecutor for review and possible charging as a misdemeanor.Miyamae is accused of grabbing the left breast of an unidentified agent Thursday afternoon after the TSA said she refused to go through passenger screening and became argumentative. Miyamae was arrested on suspicion of sexual abuse, which is a felony.Officials said she grabbed the left breast of a TSA agent with both hands, squeezing and twisting it.On Twitter, Miyamae said, "Police statement and Fox coverage does not depict accurately what happened to me on July 14th at Phoenix Airport in Maricopa county, Arizona."She thanked everyone for their support. Since the incident, she has grown into an urban folk hero for people who are unhappy about airport security procedures. Several Facebook pages are dedicated to her, her acquittal and her legal defense fund. When 7NEWS talked to her over the weekend, she declined to talk, citing the ongoing investigation and pending case.Calls to Miyamae on Tuesday have not been returned.Miyamae works as a volunteer radio DJ at KGNU in Boulder, where she was described as "very polite.""I know she would speak up for herself if she felt she was being mistreated," said station manager Sam Fuqua. "But speaking up is very different than groping."
