HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. - The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is looking for an endangered runaway in the Highlands Ranch area a day after he was found and returned the first time.
The sheriff's office said 16-year-old Ethan Ryder -- a special needs child -- left his home wearing only a red t-shirt and blue jeans just after noon Sunday.
The teen did not take a jacket or cell phone with him and investigators weren't sure where he might be headed.
Due to falling temperatures, the Douglas County Search and Rescue was called in to help look for Ethan.
Ethan is described as a white male, 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighing 150 pounds, with brown hair, brown eyes.
Ethan first left home Friday night but was found about 2:30 a.m. Saturday, the sheriff's office reported. Emergency reverse notification calls were made to residents in the area by the sheriff's office.
It has been reported that Ethan likes to walk in the green belt areas around the Highlands Ranch subdivision. The public is encouraged to call 911 if they see anyone matching his description.
