Investigators have released new pictures of the man wanted on suspicion of kidnapping and sexual assault on an 8-year-old girl.
The new surveillance photographs show Bret Lee Luckett Thompson, 27, and his 1999 white Pontiac Montana van in the early morning hours of Friday, June 3 at a Castle Rock convenience store.
Notably, the hub cab on the passenger side's rear tire is missing, said FBI spokesman Dave Joly.
The photos were taken the day after Thompson allegedly kidnapped an 8-year-old girl from an alley in Denver, police said. The girl was dropped off 90 minutes later, a few blocks from where she was taken, police said.
Investigators said the girl had been sexually assaulted.
The FBI said it reviewed surveillance footage of a man stealing a purse at a bar in New Iberia, La.. Agents said while the man in the video is similar in appearance to Thompson, they do not appear to be the same person.
"The widow's peak in his hairline is extreme. In the pictures that we sent out today, compared to the (Louisiana) video... it basically discounts (the man in the Louisiana video) as that individual," Joly said.
Thompson has previously lived in Louisiana and the FBI said it is working with its law enforcement partners in Louisiana and many other states in an effort to locate and arrest Thompson.
"We're getting tips from, really, all over the country but we don't want to discount the possibility that this individual may still be here in Colorado," Joly said.
America's Most Wanted is now featuring the nationwide manhunt for Thompson. Thompson's face is on the show's website
and investigators hope the search will be featured in a show this weekend.
Thompson, who is also known as "Wyatt" Thompson, is described as a white man, 6 feet tall, weighing 190 pounds, with short brown hair, brown eyes and light facial hair on his chin. Thompson has a tattoo of "SS" or "55" on his right forearm.
His van has Colorado license plate number 697WJA or Louisiana license plate number STV813.
Luckett Thompson is known as a wanderer who frequents rural areas. Besides Louisiana, he has lived in Wisconsin and Florida, police said.
A reward of up to $12,000 is being offered for providing information leading to the arrest and conviction of Thompson. Tips can be called in to the Denver Police Department at 720-913-2000 or call Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP (7867).
