A drunken man who broke into an Aspen sports bar and accidentally set fire to the place while making nachos was sentenced earlier this week to community corrections in another theft case.

Khory Gagner, 22, was sentenced on Monday to three years of community service, which he will serve concurrently with a four-year community corrections term for his late-night escapade in November that damaged the Fine Line Bar and Grill.

Gagner was sentenced on May 25 for that case, according to the Aspen Daily News.

Gagner told an Eagle County deputy that he downed two 20-ounce bottles of Jagermeister and 16 beers in a four-hour span on the night of Nov. 30. He said he tried to find food at the local supermarket and at the nearby Wendy's but both were closed, the newspaper said.

Police said he broke into the Fine Line and then helped himself to more beers, more Jagermeister and was making nachos and quesadillas when two tortilla chip bags that he placed on the stovetop caught fire, triggering the fire suppression system, according to the deputy's report.

He was finally caught hours later when an employee of the property management company spotted him and recognized him as the same man in the surveillance video of the burglary.

The employee chased after him and Gagner attempted to run off, but he tripped on his baggy pants and fell.

He pleaded guilty to a felony burglary count and was sentenced in late May.

In March, Gagner also pleaded guilty to a felony trespassing incident in 2009 and was sentenced on Monday in that unrelated case.

The community corrections program involves 45 days of alcohol treatment; placement in a halfway house and finding a job; and continuing addiction counseling.

His attorney said Gagner has a serious alcohol problem and the community corrections sentence will serve him well.
