AURORA, Colo. -- A 5K honoring the Aurora Theater Shooting victims will be taking place this weekend, but the event is not just about the race.
All registration proceeds will go toward funding "the permanent memorial that will be commissioned to honor the victims, survivors and heroes of the Aurora Theater Shooting," according to a flyer created by the 7/20 Memorial Foundation.
That memorial will be part of the Reflection Memorial Garden.
The 7/20 Memorial Run race is taking place Saturday, Oct. 1, at 8 a.m. at the Aurora Municipal Xeriscape Garden at East Alameda Parkway and South Chambers Road.
The registration fee for the race is $50, but teams with five people or more get $5 off. If you would like to sign up, click here.
