VAIL, Colo. – At one point or another, a marriage will face its challenges and a couple will be tested. But that test came sooner than expected for a couple in Vail.

Jamie and Courtney Edwards were paddle boarding at Piney Lake recently when Jamie jumped in the water to cool off. When he came back up, his wedding ring was nowhere to be seen.

The solution to their problem could only be solved by scuba diving. Fortunately for the both of them, a diving shop was in the right place at the right time.

“It’s kind of random that there’s a diving shop a thousand miles away from the ocean,” Edwards told Denver7, recounting how he went to the shop, put some scuba gear on and went to work.

But he didn’t go at it alone – both husband and wife participated in the search for this priced treasure.

After about 20 minutes of doing laps under the water, Edwards got very, very lucky, as he put it.

“We’ve only been married for five weeks,” Edwards said, before jokingly adding that finding the ring meant only one thing.

“I’m not sleeping on the sofa this week, which is great.”
