Skier from North Carolina dies after hitting tree at Keystone

SUMMIT COUNTY, Colo. - A skier visiting from North Carolina died of blunt force trauma after hitting a tree at Keystone Resort.

Lee Hurley, 60, of Charlotte, was visiting on vacation with his family, the Summit County Coroner reported. He lost control on an intermediate run and hit the tree.

"Ski Patrol responded and took him to the clinic unfortunately he did not survive the injuries," the coroner's office wrote.

Hurley was wearing a helmet at the time.
