DURANGO, Colo. (AP) — A 34-year-old woman has died after crashing into a tree while skiing at Purgatory Resort near Durango in southwestern Colorado.
The Durango Herald reports the accident was reported at 3:15 p.m. Saturday and the woman was pronounced dead at about 4:30 p.m. Her name and hometown were not immediately released.
Resort general manager Colin McBeath expressed sympathy to the woman's family and friends.
This is the sixth ski-related death in Colorado, but the fifth skiing death this season.
