Man Tries To Rob Key Bank Using Bomb Threat

Police Looking For Attempted Robber

A man tried to rob a Key Bank in Denver Wednesday morning claiming to have a bomb in a duffel bag.

The attempted robbery happened at the bank on E. Hampden Avenue near S. Monaco Parkway around 10 a.m., said Denver police spokesman Raquel Lopez.

Police said there was in fact no bomb in the duffel bag.

The robber is described as a Hispanic man wearing a Bronco hat, a blue polo shirt with khaki pants. He was clean-shaven and was carrying a King Soopers plastic bag, Lopez said.

Lopez did not have information as to whether or not the man got away with any money.

Anyone who may have seen the robber is asked to call Denver police.
