Police have arrested a man suspected of trying to kidnap an 11-year-old girl Monday afternoon.Jarissa Marquez was walking home from school, in the 5300 block of South Delaware Street, when a man told her to come with him."I was walking home from school and I turned the street and I saw him. And I just said, 'Hi.' And he just tells me to come here," Marquez 7NEWS.When she said no, he asked again and then reached out to grab her, police said.An adult in the area saw what was going on and helped Marquez get away. That Littleton resident walked the girl to her home and the girl's grandmother called police.Police found Jay Kern, 42, near the scene, by a K-Mart store off Broadway.Kern was arrested and booked in the Arapahoe County Jail on attempted second-degree kidnapping charges. However, he has bonded out and that worries the girl's mother, Lynette Marquez."I was upset. If he does get released, how do I know he's not going to do it again to her, or try to get her or another girl? Marquez said."He should go to jail for what he did because it's just wrong," the girl said.Kern is white, about 5 feet 5 inches tall, 140 pounds with brown hair and green eyes.Littleton police aren't releasing his mug shot because they believe there may be other victims and they don't want to prejudice the case.Investigators are asking anyone who was in the area at the time and who saw this incident to call them. Anyone who has had similar contact with a person who may seem similar to the suspect is asked to call the Littleton Police Department."It's been our experience that a lot of times there are other incidents," said Littleton police Detective Russell Hoffman.
