FORT COLLINS, Colo. - The woman accused of conspiring with her boyfriend to lure a man and his 6-year-old daughter to a motel for sex but rob the man and take his child instead, was sentenced Tuesday.
The Loveland Reporter-Herald reports that Sareena Morrison was sentenced four years of supervised probation, 120 hours of useful public service and mental health treatment.
Morrison pleaded guilty in May to attempting to commit extortion.
Investigators say she and Dustin Canup, of Loveland, would post messages online targeting men who agreed to bring a child to a motel for sex acts. The couple allegedly told investigators their plan was to rob or extort money from men who responded and to raise the child as their own.
Canup also pleaded guilty to attempted extortion and is set for sentencing Aug. 13.
