Woman shot during robbery in Black Hawk

BLACK HAWK, Colo. - A woman was shot in the leg during an armed robbery in Black Hawk early Thursday morning.

Black Hawk police said two suspects were taken into custody in nearby Central City a short time later.

According to police, a man walked up to the driver's door of a car and pointed a gun at the driver at about 2 a.m.  A scuffle ensued and the suspect's gun went off, striking a female passenger in the leg.

A second man reached in and took the woman's purse, police said.

The woman was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police alerted nearby jurisdictions to be on the lookout for the vehicle the robbery suspects fled in. 

Two 19-year-old men, Dominic James Gold and Marcus James Gordon, were arrested by Central City police and are now being held in the Gilpin County Jail.
