Woman sentenced to prison for killing former husband

FORT COLLINS, Colo. - A mother who pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the death of her former husband in Fort Collins has been sentenced to 35 years in prison.

The Coloradoan reports (http://noconow.co/139jp6s ) Stephanie Theander apologized multiple times during her sentencing hearing Wednesday. Her lawyers had argued her actions were spurred by anti-depressants mixed with a sleep medication.

Prosecutors said Theander clubbed Gregg Theander in the back of the head with a bat then stabbed him in his home after he returned from a trip with his new girlfriend in 2011.
