DENVER - Denver police are trying to determine what happened early Thursday morning at a condo complex on East Virginia Avenue.

Initial reports said a woman called police and told them she had been attacked and shot someone.

However, police later learned the woman was the one who had been shot.

She was taken to the hospital, but she did not survive, police said.

The death is being investigated as a homicide.

Emergency workers took a second person, a man with stab wounds, to the hospital. There is no word on his condition.

Denver police said they are still investigating what happened.
