Woman got into knife fight near Lakewood light rail station

3 young men involved in attack still on the loose

LAKEWOOD, Colo. - A woman pulled a knife after three teens started harassing her near a light rail station in Lakewood, police said.

The woman was walking with a man near the station at 6363 West 13th Avenue just before 1 a.m. Monday, said Steve Davis with the Lakewood Police Department.

The couple told officers three Hispanic teens approached them and asked for cigarettes.  The couple said when they told the teens didn't have any, the group surrounded them.

The woman told police she pulled a knife and then one of the men also got out a knife.

There was a physical confrontation that left the woman with two cuts on her upper back and the back of her head.  At some point, the woman and her male companion were also pepper-sprayed. She was taken to hospital for treatment but her injuries are not considered life-threatening.

The couple walked to a fire station at 14th and Lamar after the attack.

Officers were not able to find the men involved.
