ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colo. - Deputies say they have a suspect in custody for the death of a woman in Arapahoe County but aren't releasing any information about the victim, the suspect or their relationship to one another.
The Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office said deputies were called to a unit of the Saddle Ridge Condo complex in the 8600 block of East Dry Creek Road, at South Willow Way, at 11:10 a.m. They were asked to check on a woman who lived there.
When deputies arrived, they found the woman dead inside, an apparent victim of a homicide, said Undersheriff Dave Walcher.
Based on the investigation, the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office notified other law enforcement agencies regarding a potential suspect.
A short time later, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office received a call for service at Lansing Circle and South Meridian Boulevard, near the Meridian Golf Club.
After deputies arrived, they called the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office saying they had the suspect in the homicide case in custody.
A 7NEWS viewer told us that a person was pulled out of the water at the Meridian Golf Course and placed on a stretcher. A photographer saw crime scene tape around the golf course lake but the tape was taken down within two hours.
The Arapahoe County Sheriff's office has identified the suspect, but said it will not release additional details regarding the ongoing investigation until the victim's family has been notified.
The victim's name and cause of death have not been released.
