Woman attacked, sexually assaulted in Denver Monday morning

DENVER - A woman was attacked and sexually assaulted in Denver early Monday morning, Denver Police confirmed to 7NEWS.

While police would not confirm where the assault happened, they did say the woman called police from the area of Colfax and Kalamath.

According to police radio traffic, the victim, in her mid-20s, told police her attacker had a gun.

Denver Police said it's too early to tell if this assault is connected to the attack of a woman in a parking garage on Sunday, June 8.

In that case, a woman said a man followed her into the garage and to her car at 2 a.m.

The woman told police the man pushed her into her car and tried to sexually assault her, but she fought him off and sprayed him with pepper spray.

Police released a description of the suspect from the garage case, but it was vague. Officers said the man was a black man,  5-foot-8 to 6-feet tall with a thin build and close-cropped hair.
